Being a Karachiite, we grew up wondering if Karachi has to offer something in the name of entertainment other than the flex-able cuisine, well most of us are still clueless. Despite it has nothing much to offer, it still has so much to offer, yes just Karachi things! Spending good 20 years of my youth in the city, have witnessed many lows and highs of Karachi and here’s my take on must-to-visit places in Karachi.

Do Darya

A cityside resort + beach view offering cuisines under one roof. Although this sounds cliched around food, but it got the pleasures for your soul. The beautiful architects of restaurants on this belt are half submerged in sea giving you nearly an underwater experience. If you’re too much of a sea person, this place extends cruise dinner services also, all you must do is choose a decent menu and get it served on the cruise while the sailor sails the fish off, you get to enjoy food with subtle yet sound breezes through the sea. Don’t forget to put on your lifejackets!

Dreamworld Resort & Hotel

Karachi’s biggest resort came into life back in 1996 and ever since it has been one of the most popular destinations of the city. This resort delivers happiness for every age group, doesn’t matter if you’re a teenager or an adult! Dreamworld briefly is all about golf course, self-care spas, comfortable stay rooms, artificial beach access, good food and most importantly peace. Karachi’s traffic triggers stress everyday so the calm and soothing ambiance of dreamworld is all what you need after spending an entire week being struck in traffic. Find here, some zig-zag water slides promising adrenal rush! My favorite pick from the resort has been jet skiing around the artificial beach where cold water splashes through the ride gently hitting your eyes with joy! Don’t miss it out!

Mazar-e-Quaid

This place doesn’t really ignite the glitters of entertainment, but every Pakistani has a sentimental value attached to it. Quaid been the founder of Pakistan is a name every kid and adult knows. And being responsible nationals, I believe we owe a visit and prayer to Quaid’s tomb for sure. Apart from the beautiful tomb, the place offers peaceful garden and walkways for all the visitors. You will be overwhelmed to walk between the shops of fragrant flowers offering mostly rose petals to be showered upon Quaid’s grave. Whenever visiting Karachi next, make sure to pay a tributary visit to our founder’s grave!

Clifton Beach

Of course, Karachi is a beach city and one can name many of them. But, what’s so special about this beach? Well, Karachi’s peace has been taken away due to unnecessary traffic, street crimes and so much more. And Clifton beach reflects a truly opposite image of the restless hustle bustle in the city. Find here peace in the wet sand, find silence in the loudest of the sea waves and above all these peaceful beaches are a perfect therapy for anxiety and depression! Breathe out your anxiety through the sunset over the sea and I promise you, you’re all set to give back so much to the working week. Just a friendly suggestion, Clifton beach is a true weekend thing!

Happy Outing!
