Mundi:
An astonishing place in the Siran Valley to travel to in District Mansehra of Khyber Paktunkhua. It is just a two to three hours of drive from the Mansehra city and like other tourist spots, it isn’t much of a distance to travel and where you would have to stay overnight to visit the place. Especially after the completion of the Express Highway which is a part of the CPEC project, the distance has further reduced to almost half an hour. I have personally visited this place twice and what I have experienced is that you can visit it and return Mansehra city before evening or even far back to your destination if you had left earlier from your place in the morning. On the way there are several man made or artificial lakes to stay having many different things for refreshment like a boat ride, Ferus Wheel and many others for kids as well as for the family. The Siran lake resort and Siran village are the most prominent ones and is a massive tourist attraction especially on the different festivals like eids and on weekends, both the lakes are full of local as well as distant visitors and tourists.
Once
you reach Mundi, there aren’t many restaurants or resorts to stay but there are
some local Dhabas, just a few of them so you won’t have to worry of taking food
along with you and can enjoy the scenic spot. At this place the Siran River isn’t
very wide and it has limited width throughout the journey. Sitting at its side
and viewing the forest is something you could do all day long. The sound of the
river flowing the sound it makes while colliding with the huge rocks in its
pathways, also the pin drop silence and solitude is something worth travelling to
that part of the KPK.
At
the northern end of the valley, Mundi is a stunning settlement that is an
hour's drive from Jabori by road. Deep pine trees surround the area, which is
populated by a variety of animals. Families who want to escape the bustle of
the nearby Kaghan and Galayat valleys might take advantage of the lovely picnic
area at Mundi Meadow. The Siran River emerges from the Tarbela Lake and the
Mandagucha Glacier, respectively. The Siran emerges from the majestic mountain
glaciers and runs through the western Pakhli plain. The higher Siran canal at
Dharial and the lower Siran canal at Shinkiari have both been drained from the
Siran River. Between 70 and 80 miles make up its whole route, and it irrigates
6,273 acres of land.
Another
reason for visiting this place is that the travel plus all the accommodation,
hotels and other facilities are very inexpensive and you don’t have to spend a
lot of money to enjoy the nature and have some good time in those lush green
and beautiful mountains with dense pine trees and waterways, fountains and one
of the most beautiful river known as the Siran River flowing through it on all
your Journey towards that place.
