SARFARANGA DESERT
The SARFARANGA Desert is also known as the
"cold desert." It is located in the Shigar Valley. Shigar is 30
kilometres from Skardu. The main beauty of that desert is that it is located
between the mountains. The landscape of the mountains looks very eye-catching.
The Indus River also flows through the desert. The sand dunes, covered with
snow in the winter season and moving with strong winds, seize the attention of
visitors. It seems more like a moonscape than a landscape

DEOSAI THE LAND OF GIANTS
From Skardu
Skardu city is 30 kilometres away
from Deosai. To go to Deosai, it can take 3 to 4 hours. Because of the severe road conditions
caused by landslides, a jeep is recommended rather than a car. I saw two or
three cars on my way they were having a lot of problems. I therefore
believe that you should travel by jeep. In comparison to Skardu
City, the weather is extremely frigid. The nighttime temperature will be below
zero.
From Chillam Astore
The alternative route starts in the Astore Valley in Chilam. In order to go to Sheosar Lake from Islamabad, you must travel through the Chilam Valley. However, the quickest and easiest method to get to Deosai is via Skardu.
Our Experience
There are only two to three places where we can spend the night, so you should book your accommodation online to avoid any inconvenience. In Deosai, there won't be any network services. However, you can get a local wifi card for 500 rupees.Only the spring and the summers are suitable times to visit the site. However, it's possible that travelers will also see snowfall during the summer.
The beauty of deosai is that
it is a plain surface of grass surrounding with mountain range of Himalayan. After spending
our night their the very next day our plan was to see a brown bear. we
started our searching earlier. During
this period our drone camera help us alot but we were unable to find out.
While going through this one of the local person told us an area near the sheosar lake you can easily
find out and see the bear because near the sheosar
lake their is one hotel and the bear used to come their
for food during night . but we can't find it out.
