Chitral:
The largest district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and and one of the most beautiful places among Northern Areas of Pakistan. It has its unique customs, traditions and a culture that is of its own kind which makes Chitral worth visiting.
This picture was taken of Chitral River at riverside, close to the Chital Bazaar and near the Chitral Fort. This river runs throughout the road side and its so refreshing and an amazing travel while moving alongside. So even if you are travelling, as long as its in your sight, you can enjoy your journey. At some places, the river is too wide and the flow is hence very slow, which has its own places whereas, at some places while you travel through the mountains, the stream is very narrow and its flows at some high pace which seems very beautiful from a distance but as soon as you move close and especially if you have to cross one of those old wooden bridges, it isn't a very lovely experience to live in but what journey will it be if it isn't worth remembering
The greenery isn't as you might expect from places like Naran side, Kaghan Valley and Mansehra but its rocky and high mountains which seem close to sky with little plantation and Chitral River alongside it throughout the journey is mesmerizing.
It would not be fair if the food which Chitral offers you isn't discussed with you people. First talking about the fruits and nuts that are a natures gift to that region starting from the amazing Pear fruit that I had tasted right from the pear gardens which was so juicy and sweet that cant be described in words. Also the amazing dry fruits that it offers including walnuts, peanuts, dried Apricot and many others that are well-known in all over the Pakistan. Something in their dishes that I had tried there which was a very unique thing for me was the Yak meat that I had only eaten once in my life, that in Chitral and was a once a life time experience.
Talking about the amazing wildlife of Chitral. Guess what, I had spotted the National animal of Pakistan there, The Markhor standing just at the other side of the river and seemed such an amazing animal. I saw it on my way to kalash Valley of Chital which is a place that needs a whole sperate discussion to be told to you so will leave it to some other post on my blog.
